The STEM & Leaf Corps partners with several schools in the Lubbock Independent School District

community partners

At Lubbock High School, we interact with a variety of students from grades 9-12. We provide general tutoring in a variety of subjects after-school, including Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English, SAT prep, History, and more. Additionally we provide free coaching for students involved in academic competitions such as Science Bowl and UIL Math/Science and free review sessions for AP/IB exams.

TIMES: 4-5:30 PM on Wednesdays

At Commander William McCool Academy, we work with middle school students in our program aimed to seed interest in the STEM fields, foster creativity, and inculcate excitement in learning.


At Estacado High School, we partnered with the East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood initiative to provide general tutoring in a variety of subjects. Mostly work with Early College students who may need help in subjects like Physics, Trigonometry, Geology, and English.

TIMES: 4-5 PM on Thursdays

At Southcrest Christian School, we help 6th through 8th grade students build robots and teach fundamental problem-solving skills and basic programming in hopes to improve engineering skills and creative,logical thought processes. 

TIMES: 4-5:30 PM Tuesdays

At Bayless Elementary School, we work with our volunteers, school administrators, and students to create topics-centered Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities that engage elementary-schoolers in multiple disciplines and challenges them to think creatively about real-world problems centered around STEM. 

TIMES: Monday, February 10th from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

At the Guadalupe-Parkway Sommerville Centers, we offer after-school enrichment programs for students in grades K-5th. We encourage them to be curious about science from an early age through interactive project-based learning and collaborative problem solving.
TIMES: 4:30-5:30 PM on Wednesdays , 4-5 PM on Fridays

ASMA shares our goal of the enrichment of future generations through community service. If you're considering a Pre-Health profession, we encourage involvement in ASMA in addition to STEM & Leaf Corps. to further community involvement and academic endeavors. LYO aligns with our value of youth enrichment through community service. Members are given the opportunity to get involved as a mentor, tutor, or volunteer at various locations around Lubbock such as the Boys and Girls Club. STEM & Leaf Corps. advocates membership of LYO to further outreach to the youth in addition to our service. More information can be found on the LYO website linked below.
